Most quality processes work fine on paper. Someone checks the incoming shipment, writes the readings on a form, and the form goes in a folder. The trouble starts later, when a lot needs to be held, a customer asks for the inspection record from March, or the person who knew the process is out.
Quality management arrived in Business Central with the 2026 release wave 1 as a Microsoft-published extension. It puts inspections at the points where quality is actually decided: purchase receipt, production and assembly output, and warehouse movement.
