General
Where is TruNova based?
TruNova is a fully remote company, with team members across the US and Canada.
What industries does TruNova serve?
Nearly all of them. We’ve helped banks, manufacturers, medical clinics, service based businesses, agricultural companies, and even contract decorators fix broken systems and untangle bad processes. If you’ve got something we haven’t seen before, we’ll tell you straight, then help you find the right answer anyway.
What makes TruNova different from other Dynamics implementers?
We don’t just drop software in your lap and walk away. We learn your business, your problems, and your goals before we recommend anything. If Dynamics 365 is the right fix, we’ll say so. If it’s not, we’ll tell you that too and point you toward what actually solves the problem. We’re not selling product. We’re the ally who has to live with the outcome alongside you.
Products and solutions
What is Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Dynamics 365 is Microsoft’s suite of business applications, covering finance, sales, marketing, customer service, and field service in one connected system.
What is Business Central?
Business Central is Microsoft’s cloud ERP for small and midsize businesses. It runs your financials, supply chain, and daily operations in one system instead of three disconnected ones.
How much does it cost to implement Business Central?
It depends on your size, user count, and how much customization and integration you need. The real way to get a number is a Solution Overview: a detailed implementation plan built around your specific requirements, timeline, and risks. That’s what turns a guess into an accurate quote.

How much do Dynamics 365 licenses cost?
It depends on the apps and features you need. Microsoft sets license pricing. We help you pick the right mix so you’re not paying for features you’ll never use.
How much does it cost to implement Dynamics 365?
It depends on your project: user count, integrations, and customization. Simple projects cost less and move faster. Complex ones take more time and budget. Use Estimate My Project for a real, tailored number once we know your goals.
Billing and payments
What are TruNova’s billing options?
Five models, built around how your business manages cash flow.
Cadence billing splits your project cost into equal monthly payments for the life of the project. Example: a $100,000 project with a 10% deposit ($10,000) spreads the remaining $90,000 over 9 months at $10,000 a month. Best for clients who want simple, predictable payments.
Weighted cadence billing works the same way, but lets you pay more in strong revenue months and less in slow ones. Example: a $100,000 project with a 10% deposit, then $5,000 a month January to April, $27,500 a month May to June, and $5,000 a month July to September. Best for clients with seasonal revenue.
Accomplishment billing invoices you when specific milestones are hit, not on a calendar. It’s still time and materials underneath, just tied to progress instead of dates. Best for clients who want billing tied to real deliverables.
Time and materials billing charges for actual hours and costs, invoiced twice a month as work happens. Best for clients who want invoices that match real time spent.
Fixed scope billing locks in a defined scope at a fixed price, paid in full before the project starts. Best for clients who want cost certainty on a clearly defined project.
What’s the difference between fixed scope and time and materials?
It comes down to how much flexibility you want against how much cost certainty you need.
Fixed scope locks in deliverables and price before work starts, paid in full upfront. You get cost certainty and a clear timeline, but any change to scope means a change order and added cost. Best for smaller, well defined projects.
Time and materials bills for actual hours worked, invoiced twice a month. You get the flexibility to adjust scope as your needs change, but total cost varies and budgeting is less predictable. Best for complex or evolving projects.
When will I receive my invoices?
Subscriptions bill on the 1st of each month. Projects and support bill around the 3rd and the 18th.
What payment methods does TruNova accept?
ACH, wire transfer, or credit card are supported. Contact your Account Executive for current payment instructions.
Are there fees for paying by ACH or credit card?
No. Payments through our portal are free. If your bank charges a fee for a direct transfer, that’s between you and your bank.
Project guidelines
Does TruNova provide a project manager, or do I need to bring my own?
We provide a dedicated project manager on every project. If you have one on your team too, we work directly with them on goals, budget, reporting, and risk, so nothing falls through the cracks between two PMs.
What project management deliverables does TruNova provide?
Regular status reports, a maintained risk register, and a defined change process for scope changes. We run recurring steering committee meetings, twice weekly check ins, and track timelines in Microsoft Project Online, time in Dynamics 365 Project Operations, and day to day tasks in DevOps.
What is project governance?
The structure that keeps a project on track: how decisions get made, how progress gets measured, and how results get delivered.
What does project governance mean at TruNova?
Structure with room to move. We run in short, focused sprints that combine Agile, Scrum, and PMI practices, so we can deliver value fast and adjust when something changes. You get clear updates and a live view of where things stand at every stage, from kickoff to go live.
Security and compliance
How does TruNova protect our data?
We follow Microsoft’s security frameworks and layer on access controls, role based permissions, encryption, and monitoring, so your data stays protected at every level.
What compliance standards apply to your Microsoft solutions?
Two different things get confused here, so we separate them. The Microsoft platform your system runs on carries its own certifications: Dynamics 365 and Microsoft’s cloud services are covered by GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, SOC and FedRAMP programs, and Microsoft publishes the current scope in its Service Trust Portal. Those are Microsoft’s certifications, not TruNova’s.
What TruNova is accountable for is how your environment is built and who can reach it: role based access, permission design, how data is handled during migration, and the controls we hand over at go live. If your procurement or security team needs a questionnaire completed, or wants to know what TruNova itself holds, email connect@trunova.ai and we will answer it straight rather than pointing at Microsoft’s paperwork.
