A new name for the company we have become
After more than 25 years in business, several company names, a few major pivots, and more than a handful of hard-earned lessons, we are entering our next chapter as TruNova.
The name is changing. The reason behind it is bigger than a name.
We have merged companies, acquired companies, nearly been acquired, changed our positioning, and learned what happens when a business tries to solve a deeper problem with a surface-level change.
Our history includes Ignus Technologies, TrueIT, TruNorth Dynamics, and now TruNova. Each name represented a chapter of the business. Each one made sense at the time. But the company we are building today has grown beyond the identity those earlier names carried.
That is why we are rebranding.
The lessons behind the name
The story of TruNova is not a straight line. It is the story of a company learning what it is good at, what it wants to stand for, and what kind of partner it wants to be.
We have spent years working inside other companies, usually when something has already gone wrong. We have seen implementations that never really finished, systems that became impossible to maintain, projects that created more work than value, and clients who were left to start over after go-live.
We have also made our own mistakes.
Some of our past decisions were driven by what seemed obvious at the time: a market shift, a difficult business year, a competitor’s success, or the belief that a new name and new positioning would solve a problem that was actually operational, strategic, or cultural.
Those experiences changed how we think about growth and change. A rebrand cannot be an attempt to hide the past. It has to be an honest expression of where the company is going.
Why TruNova
TruNorth Dynamics served us well, but it increasingly described only one part of what we do.
We are not simply a Dynamics implementation company. Technology is part of our work, but it is not the whole relationship. Our clients do not need another vendor that disappears after go-live. They need a partner who understands the business, remembers the history, gives direct advice, and keeps helping the platform evolve as the company changes.
TruNova better reflects that direction.
It represents forward movement, new energy, and the belief that the next chapter can be better than the last one without pretending the last one did not happen. It gives us room to talk about the real problems our clients face and the long-term relationships we want to build.
Our work is increasingly centered on a simple promise: help clients move forward without making them start over.
That means diagnosing the real problem before recommending a product. It means being willing to say what a client does not need. It means creating a practical roadmap instead of selling an oversized project. It means staying involved after implementation and continuing to improve the system as the business evolves.
It also means rethinking the way technology services are delivered. Clients should not have to ration questions because they are afraid of a meter. They should understand what they are investing in, what progress looks like, and how the relationship creates value over time.
The same people, with a clearer direction
This rebrand does not erase our history. It carries it forward.
The experience we gained through every difficult project, wrong turn, reinvention, and recovery is part of what makes TruNova different. We know what it feels like to be the company trying to figure things out. We know what it feels like to be the partner brought in after something has broken. We know that business is hard, that growth is rarely tidy, and that good intentions are not enough without the systems and economics to support them.
We are still the same people who care deeply about the work and the relationships behind it. We are simply giving the company a name that better matches what we are becoming.
TruNova is the next chapter of our story: a company built to stay, keep context, solve the real problem, and help clients keep moving.
We are proud of where we came from. We are honest about what we got wrong. And we are excited about where we are going next.
Welcome to TruNova.
